2023 Resolutions

New Year Reality

I did this "Orthograph" a dozen years ago today.

It has changed slightly over the years. Only slightly because change does not come quickly.

Resolutions are intended to change our existence. But, like repentance, they are a sincere concept and effort but generally end up being a reminder that our existence does not change quickly, radically nor easily.

Thus, some resolutions never die... because our sins don't die.

Some resolutions change, but only in the surface issues because in things medical and spiritual that might kill us, we tend to deal with symptoms and not causes.

But, as I've learned in the past couple years, some resolutions, after you've faced death, might actually change your entire existence. But still, not quickly, radically nor easily. Old sins are old because they've learned how to survive in your soul. They die hard even in the face of resolution.

So, here is the old list, amended, and as always, hopeful yet a record of my frailty and need of mercy.

May 2023 be an existence changing year for you and may you have the strength, patience, wisdom, peace and mercy to embrace the struggle.
